In creating the optimum conditions in which to train racehorses, Jeremy has worked hard to build up a strong network of independent experts from every field.
The horses are under the excellent care and expertise of top vet, Mike Shepherd. Mike, who works for the well-known and established Rossdales practice, visits the stables daily. In addition to this, Jeremy calls upon several specialists. A chiropractor and equine physiotherapist attend on a daily basis and a separate equine masseuse treats the horses every week. If required, an internationally renowned vet can be called in to trouble-shoot.
Jeremy commissions an equine dentist, who sees each horse five times each year. The trainer also hires a top-class farrier who has an on-site base and is on-hand whenever needed.
Unlike many of the Newmarket racehorse yards and stables, Jeremy engages the services of a night watchman to ensure security at all times of the day and night. Security watchman, Steve Bingley, is a committed member of the team, undertaking regular rounds throughout the night, meaning that the Shalfleet string are under 24-hour surveillance, seven days a week.
